Our client, a global leading provider in the Energy industry, is looking to appoint a successful Electrical and Instrumentation Supervisor to be based in Cabo Delgado.

JOB DIMENSION

Onshore facilities include 2 LNG trains (total of 13 mtpa), LNG and Condensate storage, Marine Facilities (Jetty and loading facilities), Utilities and Early Site Infrastructure (Resettlement Village, Security works, airport, permanent camps, and roads). Onshore EPC contracts contract value is approximately $9 billion, including Construction around $4 billion, Site Personnel on Board is expected to peak at 15,000.

RESPONSIBILITIES

•    The E&I Supervisor shall promote the Company safety culture in all interactions with Contractors’ and Subcontractors’ teams, monitor their adherence to Company’s rules for safety, and demonstrate own commitment while leading by example. 

•    Ensures compliance with all relevant HSE requirements across works to promote a healthy and safe work environment.

•    Is a warrant for the conformity of Electrical and Instrumentation (E&I) site activities, including construction, commissioning and start-up with the project requirements and specifications, in terms of methods, safety, quality and schedule. Has a detailed knowledge of codes and standards applicable to the project.

•    Is responsible for ensuring the site works are properly manned, managed and executed by the Contractor and their approved Subcontractors in accordance with the Contract Agreement.

•    Surveys the E&I activities, applies ‘lessons learnt’ from previous project team’s experiences and provides timely feedback, thus contributing to the continuous improvement of the E&I team safety awareness and performance.

•    Maintains close work relationship with the EPC Contractor, prepares for, and participates in daily progress meetings. 

•    Has a visible presence at site, demonstrates commitment to safety by organizing and participating in joint daily review of the work to be performed.

•    Participates in walk-throughs with company and contractor project management at the completion of jobs, documents and reports to project management any safety, technical or organizational issues observed (list of non-conformities).  

•    Verifies that the progress of E&I construction activities corresponds with the reality observed in the field. 

•    Issue daily and weekly progress report on Construction activities to the project management team.

•    Works closely with the quality assurance teams, participates in all quality surveillance programs and inspects the works per discipline as directed in the approved inspection procedures.

•    Is familiar with Company information systems (ex. ICAPS, STOP card or equivalent) 

•    Participates in all necessary construction planning meetings to ensure a smooth resolution of all technical issues, thus avoiding any impact to schedule or cost, as well by anticipating such issues as required.

Accountabilities

Responsible for construction activities within specified area in close collaboration with EPC Contractor as per project rules including project objectives for HSE, Quality, Schedule, and Cost aspect.

Coordination with other departments for the safe and on?time execution of the work, to deliver a fit?for?purpose facility.

QUALIFICATIONS

•    Education: A technologist degree/diploma or equivalent qualification or equivalent in Electrical and Instrumentation disciplines field and/or Oil & Gas construction projects. 

•    15 years’ experience in related discipline works and a suitable general knowledge in oil and gas industry.

•    Full understanding of areas critical to the success of large complex projects: safety, environmental, work organization, cost, schedule, quality, organizational competency, and reputational risk.

•    Strong HSE culture and safety leadership, effective communication, and leadership skills with the ability to influence critical decisions.

•    Strong English written and verbal communication skills required. Portuguese or French is advantageous.
