Our client, a global construction company, is looking to appoint a successful Welder Foreman to be based in Cabo Delgado.

OVERVIEW

We are seeking a skilled and experienced Welder Foreman to lead and supervise a team of welders. The ideal candidate will ensure that all welding work is carried out in compliance with the required certifications and industry standards. This position involves overseeing welding operations for projects, ensuring the highest quality standards, safety protocols, and project timelines are met.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

•    Lead and manage a team of welders, providing guidance and supervision on daily tasks.

•    Ensure all welding operations comply with the relevant certification standards, including AWS D1.1 or EN ISO 9606, as approved by the client.

•    Conduct inspections to maintain high-quality standards in all welding processes.

•    Coordinate and plan work schedules, ensuring timely project completion and adherence to safety guidelines.

•    Monitor and maintain the certification status of welders, ensuring certifications are valid and up to date.

•    Oversee welding in different positions, including flat, horizontal, vertical, and overhead.

•    Ensure proper maintenance and handling of welding equipment and tools.

•    Collaborate with project managers, engineers, and other team members to meet project specifications and goals.

•    Maintain detailed records of work progress, safety compliance, and equipment usage.

•    Conduct training sessions to improve the skills and techniques of the welding team.

QUALIFICATIONS

•    Certification in welding according to AWS D1.1 standards (or equivalent EN ISO 9606 certification).

•    Extensive experience with SMAW (Shielded Metal Arc Welding) and GMAW/FCAW (Gas Metal Arc Welding/Flux Cored Arc Welding) processes.

•    Proven experience in welding different positions (flat, horizontal, vertical, and overhead).

•    Minimum of 8 years of experience in a similar foreman or supervisory role.
