Our client, a global leading provider in the Construction industry, is looking to appoint a successful Senior Mechanic be based in Afungi.

RESPONSIBILITIES 

•    Leading a team of mechanics, providing technical expertise, and troubleshooting complex mechanical problems.

•    Performing scheduled maintenance and repairs on vehicles, machinery, and equipment to minimize downtime.

•    Overseeing workshop operations, managing tools, equipment, and inventory to ensure availability for repairs.

•    Ensuring compliance with safety standards, maintaining a clean and safe work environment.

•    Diagnosing and resolving mechanical faults, hydraulic, pneumatic, and electrical system issues.

•    Coordinating with operations teams to ensure minimal disruption during repairs.

•    Maintaining detailed service records, logs, and reports of all maintenance activities.

•    Monitoring and implementing best practices for workshop efficiency and equipment performance.

•    Training and mentoring junior mechanics, providing guidance on technical and safety procedures.

•    Managing procurement of spare parts and liaising with suppliers to ensure timely delivery.

•    Conducting inspections and quality checks to ensure repairs meet industry standards.

QUALIFICATION/EXPERIENCED REQUIRED  

•    High school diploma or equivalent; technical or vocational training in mechanics, automotive, or related fields is preferred.

•    Certification in mechanical systems, automotive technology, or heavy equipment repair.

•    Additional certifications (e.g., hydraulic systems, diesel engines, electrical systems) are a plus.

•    5+ years of experience as a mechanic, with at least 2-3 years in a senior or supervisory role.

•    Proven experience in maintaining and repairing heavy machinery, vehicles, and workshop equipment (e.g., cranes, forklifts, generators, and other MOF equipment).

•    Experience working in a Maintenance Operation Facility (MOF) or industrial setting is highly desirable.

•    Familiarity with diagnostics tools and equipment, including computerized maintenance management systems (CMMS).
