Our client, a global leading provider in the Energy industry, is looking to appoint a successful Offshore SURF Surveyor services to be based in Brazil, Rio de Janeiro.
MISSIONS / SERVICE DIMENSIONS
The surveyor is responsible, within the SW Project team and under the RSES-D / Company Site
Representative Supervision, for following-up, monitoring and supervising survey activities.
SERVICES ACTIVITIES
• To adopt and demonstrate an exemplary behavior with regard to HSSE, respect the Project HSSE requirements and ensure application of HSSE rules.
• To be informed of the appropriate Company Rules and Specifications (CR’s/GS’s/PPS’s), international norms and standards, taking knowledge from them to application to the Project.
• To ensure all processing / survey data acquisitions are made according to survey workmanship.
• To review and assess the quality of all field reports submitted by the survey contractor offshore.
• To collect the associated raw data, assess them offshore if possible, and transmit them to the onshore survey support team for further analysis.
• To ensure that all necessary data are duly collected in a timely manner by the survey contractor offshore following the Field coordinate handbook and data management approved procedure.
• To collect the as-built reports and the field reports carried out each day to file them properly on board available for the Company Representative.
• To inform the Company Representative and the Company Main Surveyor onboard the survey vessel about all shortcomings, problems and/or major defects detected in survey works.
• To ensure the technical exchange with the survey contractor offshore in order to make sure that the survey services are carried-out as per specifications and approved procedures and liaise between the Company Rep and Contractor on survey issues.
During the mobilization phase, he shall be able to judge the capability and skillfulness of the contractor surveyors, also he shall:
• Verify and ensure that the navigation sensors are duly calibrated according to Company specifications.
• The offsets of the sensors have been professionally assessed by the survey sub-contractor.
• The DGPS and the DP vessel have been duly tested before starting operations.
• That the survey contractor implements the quality control as per specification requirements.
• Assess the survey procedure and manuals
• To ensure all processing / survey data acquisitions are made according to survey workmanship.
• To ensure confidentiality of all the documentation produced (whatever its support).
CONTEXT & ENVIRONMENT
Location; based onboard contractor’s vessels, JSD6000, Norman Maximus, Others.
There are 3 campaigns from April 2025 to January 2026; Depending on the assignment on the vessel the duration will vary.
QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE REQUIRED
• Educated to degree level or higher in a related subject (MSc in Topography or MSc in Hydrography or equivalent).
• Valid BOSIET.
• Similar experience in oil and gas offshore installation, similar experience in large deep offshore project in
• Acoustic technique, mainly USBL and LBL system that are implemented to services pipelines and structures on the seabed and for vessel navigation.
• Fully conversant with land survey technique, metrology, marine processing system and survey sensors, like tow fish multi-beam sensors.
• Extended capability in the knowledge and understanding of logistics and factors influencing the adequacy, delivery of services, equipment and materials.
• Proven ability in the knowledge and understanding of HSE, planning / schedules, forecasting and risk management.
• Communication – ability to function as part of a dispersed Project Team to maintain clear understanding to design issues, progress and objectives.
• Strong interpersonal skills and able to work with a multi-disciplined/multi-cultural team.
• Extended capability in managing self – time management, setting priorities, creative thinking etc.
• Extended capability in developing working relationships through effective communication.
• Fluency in English
