Our client, a global leading provider in the Energy industry, is looking to appoint a successful Construction Engineer to be based in Maputo.

JOB DIMENSION

The Civil Engineer will oversee the infrastructure portfolio, ensuring the successful identification, procurement, and execution of projects within the various districts of Cabo Delgado. This role encompasses all phases from procurement and tendering to supervision, verification, and quality assurance of works. The position entails travelling to sites across the province of Cabo Delgado.

ACTIVITIES 

•    Project Identification: Identify potential infrastructure projects that align with the Foundation's mission and goals. 

•    Procurement and Tendering: Oversee the procurement process, prepare bills of quantity, and verify technical soundness of processes with relevant procurement units. 

•    Supervision of Works: Provide on-site supervision of construction activities to ensure adherence to project specifications, timelines, and budgets. 

•    Verification and Quality Assurance: Conduct thorough inspections and quality assurance checks to verify the execution of works meets the required standards. 

•    Stakeholder Coordination: Collaborate with local authorities, contractors, and other stakeholders to facilitate smooth project implementation. 

•    Reporting: Prepare detailed progress reports and documentation for project milestones and completion.

QUALIFICATIONS

•    Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering or a related field. 

•    Proven experience in managing infrastructure projects with integrity 

•    Strong knowledge of procurement and tendering processes related to civil works. 

•    Excellent project management and organizational skills. 

•    Ability to work effectively with diverse teams and stakeholders. 

•    Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities. 

•    Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. 

•    Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines. 

•    Attention to detail and a commitment to quality. 

•    Proficiency in relevant engineering software and tools. 

•    Proficiency in both Portuguese and English. Knowledge of local languages as a plus. 

•    Mozambique National.
