Our client, a global leading provider in the Energy industry, is looking to appoint a successful Site Supervisor to be based in Tete.
JOB SUMMARY
The Site Supervisor will oversee the day-to-day execution of construction and installation activities for the OPGW replacement project along the Songo–Matambo and Songo–Bindura transmission lines. The role ensures compliance with technical specifications, safety regulations, and project timelines while coordinating with contractors, consultants, and stakeholders.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
• Monitor daily construction activities to ensure adherence to the project schedule and specifications.
• Supervise and coordinate live-line installation works, ensuring minimal power interruptions.
• Ensure that OPGW installation follows approved methodologies and safety procedures.
• Oversee contractor performance, ensuring compliance with quality and environmental standards.
• Conduct site inspections and prepare progress reports for project management.
• Enforce adherence to approved designs, drawings, and technical requirements.
• Ensure all materials, including OPGW cables and accessories, meet project standards before installation.
• Participate in factory acceptance tests (FAT) and site acceptance tests (SAT) to validate quality.
• Monitor and document compliance with environmental and social impact assessment (ESIA) requirements.
• Act as the primary on-site liaison between client, contractors, and other stakeholders.
• Maintain regular communication with the Project Manager and Engineering Team.
• Report construction progress, risks, and deviations to the project team.
• Coordinate and document site meetings, ensuring timely resolution of issues.
• Enforce adherence to World Bank environmental and social standards and local regulations.
• Ensure that contractors implement proper safety measures for live-line works.
• Conduct regular safety briefings and toolbox talks.
• Investigate and report incidents, recommending corrective actions.
Qualifications & Experience:
• Bachelor’s degree in electrical, Civil, or Mechanical Engineering (preferred) or equivalent experience.
• Minimum of 5 years in transmission line construction projects, preferably involving OPGW or high-voltage line work.
• Strong understanding of transmission line construction, OPGW installation, and live-line methodologies.
• Experience with quality control, FAT/SAT procedures, and contract supervision.
• Strong leadership and communication skills.
